Filmed in Mexico this was a western about American adventurers who are hided by a Mexican emperor to transport a countess to Vera Cruz, there is also $3 million dollars along for the ride, and so of course there are plots and counter plots about trying to steal it.
An aging Gary Cooper and Burt Lancaster are the leads in this average western outing. It also Co-stars Ernest Borgnine, in one of the movies he appeared in prior to winning his best actor Oscar. Charles Bronson is also there, credited as Charles Buchinsky, his birth name, as he was in his early movies.
It was a well made, quite straight forward movie, nothing overtly memorable, and Lancaster and Cooper were both good in their roles. I have never been a fan of the Mexican/Western genre, but this was OK.
Charles Bronson = 21/83.
Ernest Borgnine = 16/109.
Burt Lancaster = 14/73.
My rating = 6/10.
