Iron Man 2 is a movie that is loud, brash and full of explosions and it is proud of it.
It has little plot to speak of, and when it has plot it is often full of those 'Star Trek science' moments - full of geek speak unintelligible words to make it sound all scientific but just sounds ridiculous.
Big stars litter the cast, with Robert Downey Jr playing the man and Gwyneth Paltrow the assistant/love interest, then you have Don Cheadle, Sarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, with Sam Rockwell & Mickey Rourke as the bad guys, and Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury.
The film was littered with over acting and did not explore or flesh out the really good ideas it did have, instead going for the cheap option of special effects over story.
One of the most amusing/strange parts was after a fight scene the character stopping for a little pose, especially when it happened about ten times in a row, particularly when Scarlet Johansson's character fought a bunch of individuals - it went - jump around - bash someone - twist around - pose! - jump around - bash someone - twist around - pose! etc I think they have invented 'Vogue Fighting"
This movie was a major disappointment and even though it will make a lot of money, it is not a good movie.
Paul Bettany = 12/25.
Scarlett Johansson = 23/30.
Gwyneth Paltrow = 28/36.
Samuel L Jackson = 71/90.
My rating = 5/10.
