Post apocalyptic movie which is very bleak in its look, feel and outlook.
Some sort of cataclysmic event has blocked the sun, and therefore wiped out all the plants and then the animals and a small number of humans are wandering around either in small groups surviving or as cannibalistic gangs.
Sounds totally awful but is filmed in a quite beautiful style and some great performances from Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron in a small role, and the stand out for me Aussie child actor Kodi Smitt McPhee who really carried the movie.
It was a very good movie, but the bleakness and with no hope of a future evident, even the somewhat uplifting ending was quite muted.
