The Magnificent Seven. 1960. USA.

A remake of the 1954 Japanese classic Seven samurai directed by Akira Kurosawa sees the action movie to a Mexican village and the seven samurai become seven cowboys.

The two best things about this movie are the music score and the cool actors (Steve McQueen, Yul Brynner, Charles Bronson, Eli Wallach, James Coburn, the names just continue on.) for me though it was like seeing a diet version of the original and just missed the smouldering building tension, the contemplative moments and the real slow burn build up.

It was good for what it was, but nowhere as near as effective as the original. Overall average entertainment value.

Charles Bronson = 20/83.

Yul Brynner = 09/42.

James Coburn = 18/66.

Steve McQueen = 10/29.

My rating = 6/10.
