A Shot in the Dark. 1935. USA.

A very unspectacular crime melodrama which is quite dull, falls into the camp of interest only for who is in it (the who not what sub-genre as defined by The Outsiders) with a supporting role being played by one Eddie Tamblyn.

Who is Eddie Tamblyn? Well himself, not that much can be said, an actor who mainly appeared in small roles in only 19 movies from 1931 - 1938 and died in 1957.

He was though the father of Russ Tamblyn who was amongst other things in West Side Story and later played the psychiatrist in Twin Peaks, and then his daughter, and Eddie's granddaughter is Amber Tamblyn, famous for being Joan of Joan of Arcadia and now an up and coming movie actress.

So there is a Tamblyn dynasty at work here!!

As for the movie itself, well pretty ordinary murder mystery movie with not much excitement, this was the morning movie on TVS, the community channel, and at lease one channel in Sydney is showing movies on a regular basis.

Eddie Tamblyn = 03/19.

My rating = 4/10.
